What a Way to Start the Weekend!

Today was wonderful to say the least.

First I got d/c'd from the hospital after noon.  It took an exuberant amount of time to get the d/c papers written, but they got done and I got out!  First thing I did when I got home was check my facebook!  haha!  The hospital blocks access to all the good sites, as well as the bad sites.  So I had to live without Facebook for a week.  I did get my weekly video in; which you can see at the bottom of this post.

I repeated my PFT's (Pulmonary Function Test) before I left.  When I came in, my lungs were performing at about 68%.  Normal for me is about 75%.  Today my lung function was at 80%!!  I haven't been above 80% since 2007 or earlier!  So that was a major pick-me-up!  What a way to start the weekend, right?!  I still have to be on IV's for another week, I will stop them the Monday (Feb. 16) before Cloverdale (Feb. 20).  I can still ride during this period thanks to the OT department at Cardinal Glennon.  Last April they constructed a "suit" for me to wear while riding that will protect my port-a-cath.  I would have never made it through the 6 months of Amikacin IV without them!

Well when I got home, I went out to see Mr. Arnold.  He still had his blankets on --i won't go there-- so I stripped him and let his hair and skin breathe.  I came in and started on supper and unpacking.  After supper I went and groomed the now caked-with-mud Arnold, spent nearly an hour pampering him.  He now looks like a retired show horse, instead of just a pasture pet.  Clipped his ears and whiskers, brushed out his long mane, and fluffed and combed his tail.  He was such a  sweetie!  Such a good boy.

I came in and recorded my FB weekly video, and now I'm sitting on my vest.  I still have a Cephtaz dose to do at Midnight, then it's off to bed!

Thank you all for your cards, prayers, and undying support.  It is appreciated more than you will ever know.

Here's the video; TGIF!  Love ya, Miss ya!

Lauren
